PERSONALITY TEST

December 24, 2018

                                                                           Abstract
This test is solely done for the purpose of research and frequency of behavior that is seen prevalent in the regular life of people. Including that this test also summarizes the learning content and use of acquired knowledge in the field of psychology. For this test, 20-item personality questionnaires are prepared in the google forms and distributed to the voluntary consent via link in social platforms. There is change of the questions from first google forms to the second forms which was changed due to the request of the participants on the personality test. So, anonymity was maintained in the test by discarding the name of the participants, their age and their email address in the second form.
Keywords:  questions, test, personality, answer, participants

    Introduction
Did you know? Personality test can be used to generalize the people from any background and still be relevant for the most of the people and the results obtained are used to amuse people to believe the accuracy of the test (Ulrich, Stachnik, & Stainton, 1963). Personality tests have been providing a vital support in many fields of study and identifying people reaction and behavior in normal conditions. They are used in criminal investigations, survey, mental hospitals, etc. Their purpose can be as small as entertainment to as high as life-saving in hospitals and prison. They can be standardized to particular volunteers to increase their accuracy and obtain specific results. In this particular context, it is being used to determine the personality traits and reliability of the responses collected from these tests.

Methodology Used
Google forms were used to collect the responses need to determine the personality of the volunteers. Link was generated from the google forms and shared to other people via social platforms such as messenger and mail. Idiographic approach was also taken into consideration for the personality assessment test which specifies the study of an individual responses, goals and moods (Allport, 1961). For the authenticity of the responses collected, the questions were changed on the basis of the relevancy of the questions to the participants. In the first test, the name of the participants was required along with their age and google id but later it was changed because the accuracy of the results was not determined. It was evaluated from three trick questions that the responses being provided by the participants were not true. Similarly, the approach was based on targeting each five personality traits but it was reduced to two personality traits on the basis of higher resonance with the participants. The link is given to get an overview of the responses collected.

Major findings
It was found that the participants who were introvert preferred to stay home than going out and particularly avoided being in the public. Similarly, they had a critical way of thinking and were frequently drained by social interactions. If question was answered as true, it pointed towards the conclusion that the participants were introvert and their openness to new experience and if they answered as false, they were extrovert and had emotional stability which is determining factor if they have any effect in their mental condition (Roberts, Kuncel, Shiner, Caspi, & Goldberg, 2007). The findings were analyzed based on true or false answers because of the requirement of exact amount of reaction to the question. If the answers were also assigned as slightly agree or slightly disagree then the exact personality of the participants couldn’t be determined. From the results collected, it was seen that almost a single answer got stated as true by all the participants and false for the other which concludes that some answers were used as a type of trick question to check the credibility of the answers being given by the participants which also denotes a type of personality.

Interpretation
The results of the test interpret that the all the five participants liked to take responsibility of others if they made mistakes on their behalf. Similarly, participants liked to change their way of thinking frequently along with new ideas and liked to experiment with things rather than following the usual methods. Results show that most of the participants were extrovert and had certain degree of openness to experience as most of them have answered their questions as false in first ten questions which determines the personality trait of introvert and last ten questions has been answered as true in majority which interprets as the participants having a high degree of openness to experience. Last question was to determine the special personality test of critical thinking in which the question is asking whether or not the participant often lied in test like these in which only one answered as true which concludes as he only lies often but most of time he tells the truth which is a sign of critical thinking. It can also be called as a trick question to evaluate the reliability of the responses being collected.

Reflection
Designing process for this particular test was very challenging as the reference to be used for making this test was from questionnaire used in Universal Assessment of Zealous Youth which was made by a renowned team of psychologists and taking it as a reference was quite hard as the questions itself could be interpreted in many ways and due to this it was very difficult to make questions just like those. At last, I consulted professor who suggested me to prepare questions of 20 with questions that helped to evaluate a certain personality trait at least one. Similarly, the content of the questions being asked could cover at least one chapter was the suggestion of mam which again helped us to focus our personality test. That helped to make the questions easier but still the way of answering for the participants was still unconfirmed. This time I looked back at our previous survey and how using of check-box format to convert it into yes/no answer had helped to make the answering system easy and accurate. This time exact reaction of the behavior was to be evaluated, so true/ false method was used which proved very helpful. Whole personality assessment test was based on a behavior, personality analysis, personality traits and using this knowledge to make a test that determines an overall general personality of the person in a stable condition. Right after making the first personality assessment test, it was administered to five people to review and to answer the questions. The results of the tests were given to the participants for reviewing them and whether or nor it matched with their personality. Some of the results were satisfying but most of them had given a fake review in the first place due to the association of their name and age with the question being asked. Similarly, questions were not so clear in first time and it was to be changed because of the suggestion of the participants. As a result, name and email id of the participants were removed from the test and the questions asked in the test were edited and made clear for the participants to understand and trick question was also included to check the reliability of the answers. Also, the voluntary consent form was provided to the participants beforehand to get a profound understanding on the test and its requirement. Since there is no such thing as a perfect personality for all situations, a generalized emotional condition was required at the time of the test being taken (Nettle, 2006). The usefulness of the personality test can be particularly grasped form the accurate personality test review it got from the participants. Specifically, the openness to experience personality test was measured most accurately as it pointed out the specific people who loved to experience new ideas, meeting new peoples (McCrae, 1996). Only based on true/false form of giving answers, it provides a specific personality for the participants of this test. In addition, it also has some trick questions and regular generalized answering questions which help to denote any special personality or any personality disorder in the participants which really makes it unique and worthwhile to use.

Conclusion
Personality is the determining factor of the frequent behavioral patterns in an organism which defines the organism. To test the personality, it is very important for the person to be in stable condition and free from any pressure. Some personality traits may backfire and create a huge implication in a person life. In the case of introvert, they are not as quite happy as extrovert and they are prone to being diagnosed from depression (Janowsky DS. 2001). That doesn’t mean that a person must change the personality or he/she may die. Personality defines us and makes us who we are but having a sense of self-esteem is particularly important for improving the skill, believing in oneself, constantly reminding that they are more successful than other people may save them from sacrificing their life (Nussbaum & Dweck, 2008). Personality tests like these can open up many possibilities of life saving tales in the future.

PLAGIARISM AND ITS REMEDY

Plagiarism in Music Industry Plagiarism is an act of presenting any idea which maybe new or old without giving credit or citing the information to the content’s owner   (Merriam-Webster, 2019) . The act itself can be intentional or unintentional but there are strict laws in play if the act is committed. There are many cases in the world today that are connected with the act of plagiarism especially in the music industry where the source of inspiration for chord progressions or beats can easily lead to this act. Some of them can be connected with Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”, Ed Sheeran’s Photograph” and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”. Particularly, Robin Thicke’s song featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I. was sued by the Gaye’s state lawyers for allegedly stealing the entire music from Marvin Gaye’s “Got to give it up”. The ruling favored the Ga...
